About Brenda
Brenda Molyneux is an award winning, self taught artist living in the New Forest, Hampshire. She paints in several mediums and contemporary styles and is able to slip with ease between the challenges of portraiture and the human form, landscapes, seascapes and abstract work. Her range of application is extensive ranging from light pastel sketches to textured and vigorous paintings by knife in acrylics and oils; her fascination is with colour and light. She works intuitively usually selecting a colour palette first.
Her work has been short-listed for the SAA Artist of the Year, has gained first place in the 2018 Art Society competition at The New Forest Show and awarded Best Themed Painting or Highly Commended on several occasions at various local art group exhibitions. Her work is held in private collections in the UK, South America, New Zealand and Australia.
Brenda is regarded to be an inspiring teacher and generous with her knowledge, she has run regular workshops and introductions to a variety of mediums, applications and techniques. She has judged work and has demonstrated aspects of her own artwork to various art groups in Hampshire and Wiltshire. She is an honorary member of and actively involved in the New Forest Art Society, a member of the Chandlers Ford Art Group and also organises regular painting opportunities for a private group of accomplished local artists,
